Police search for shooter in Southeast, DC homicide

The DC Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.

The Homicide Branch said Brian Tyrell Butler of Southeast DC was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Officers of the Seventh District were called to Ainger Place at around 8:32 p.m. Thursday and found Butler with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people involved in this homicide. Anyone with information should call 202-727-9099, or submit  information to the department’s Text Tip Live at 50411.
