A woman was found dead in her car Saturday morning in what appears to be a car accident off of Bethlehem Boulevard near Interstate 695 in Sparrows Point, authorities said.

Police said the vehicle, a Jeep Patriot, was leaving I-695 onto Bethlehem Boulevard but continued across the street and came to a stop after impacting with a construction trailer in a construction area in the 6300 block of Cold Mill Road.

An eye witness reported seeing the vehicle there at 7 a.m., but believed it was a construction worker’s vehicle, police said.

The woman, identified as Maria Cloelia Eder, 74, of the 500 block of Queen Anne Avenue, Odenton, was found dead in the driver’s seat soon after 10 a.m., police said.

Her body was sent to the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine cause of death.
