Zachary BowenAn off-duty Maryland State Trooper was arrested Monday for a road rage incident, county police said.

Zachary Tyler Bowen, 28, of the 300-block of Leyton Road, has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime, according to police.

Police said the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday when a man and a woman were traveling on the outer loop of Interstate 695.

Police said the male victim driving the car changed lanes when Bowen, driving a Volkswagen Jetta, came beside the victims’ car and pointed a gun at both the man and the woman.

Bowen was later located at his residence and was placed under arrest, police said.
