The Baltimore County Police Department on Wednesday activated new speed cameras at Westowne Elementary School.
Police said the new speed cameras will be located at the 400 block of Harlem Lane in Catonsville, and for the first 30 days, motorists exceeding 12 mph over the speed limit will receive warnings instead of $40 citations.
In compliance with the Maryland state law, Baltimore County’s speed cameras operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. including the summer months and weekdays when school is not in session, officials said.
