A city man was arrested on Dec. 13 for drug activity in the Northwest District, police said.
Brandon Robinson, 29, of the 3100 block of Elmora Avenue was arrested for engaging in illegal drug activity, according to police.
As detectives approached Robinson for questioning, he began to flee the area on foot. In his hurry, he discarded a .38-caliber revolver, police said. After a short pursuit, detectives were able to catch and arrest Robinson, police said.
Police said Robinson is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior convictions. Robinson was places under arrest and transported to Central Booking, authorities said. He has been charged with multiple handgun violations, police said.
