A UMBC freshman was declared dead by medical personnel Sunday after he was found unconscious on the college campus in Catonsville, Baltimore County police said.
Police identified the victim as 17-year-old Eric Thomas Askins of Hollywood, Maryland. The student was found when police responded to a call in the 1000 block of Hilltop Circle at 12:34 a.m.
The cause of death is unknown, and there are no signs of foul play , police said. The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death.
