An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder shortly after a shooting occurred in Milford, county police said.

Police said officers located a dead female suffering from a gunshot wound in the Unit block of Stockmill Road. The incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m.

Police said officers believe Shaheem Muse shot and killed 28-year-old Wayniqua Johnson.

Investigators believe that the suspect and the victim had recently entered into a relationship.

Muse is being held in the Baltimore Detention Center without bond. A bail review hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 29.
