A 20-year-old man has died after a motorcycle crash in Sparks, county police said.

Police responded just after 2 p.m. on Saturday to a motorcycle crash on Phoenix Road and Hunt Creek Lane.

Nicholas Michael Hammel Jr. of the 2200 block of Old Eastern Avenue lost control of his motorcycle and struck a Lexus on Pheonix Road, police said.

The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene, county police said. Police added that Hammel was transported to University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
