Plantation Park Heights Urban Farm is expanding its mission and addressing inconsistent food access in North Baltimore. The farm has grown to more than 10 acres of land as it works to increase the availability of fresh produce and fill gaps in food deserts.

Site Supervisor Keith Owens says the farm has become a “safe haven” for residents and volunteers, offering a “third space” where individuals can learn more about growing food and receive support in the process.

In Baltimore, the network of urban farms has continued to strive for a wider reach in community education and food sovereignty. See the video below for the full story.

Plantation Park Heights Urban Farm now has volunteer opportunities available and is encouraging residents of all ages to come by. Farmers welcome Baltimoreans to come learn and contribute to the farm’s evolving efforts.
