A suspect was taken into custody Thursday after a middle school student in Cockeysville reported she had been abducted on her way to school, Baltimore County police said.

Oscar Bladimir Argueta Argueta, 34, was charged with kidnapping and second-degree assault following the alleged abduction that occurred in the area of Vintage Court and Cranbrook Road in Cockeysville Thursday, police said.

Police said Argueta is being held without bond.

According to police, officers responded to Cockeysville Middle School at approximately 7:50 a.m. after the student reported the incident.

The student told officers she was walking to school when a male approached her, identified himself as a family friend, and persuaded her to get into his vehicle, police said.

The suspect then drove the student to multiple locations before dropping her off at school, where she reported the incident, according to police. Detectives later located the suspect and took him into custody.
