Detectives arrested a man they believe was involved in 17 theft-related incidents across Baltimore, city police said.

Jamal Gardner, 34, was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the 100 block of East Fayette Street, police said.

Police said detectives had a search warrant and recovered stolen property linked to 14 victims, including jewelry, passports, state IDs, credit cards and checks.

According to police, Gardner is allegedly responsible for thefts in four downtown hotels, two apartment complexes and one commercial robbery.

Police did not say when the robberies occurred or when Gardner was arrested.

Police say the investigation is still active.
