Baltimore County homicide detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred last month.
Police said the incident began when officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 31.
The suspect was not in the area when officers arrived, but they located him a few moments later down the street from the original location, police said.
According to police, the adult male suspect was still armed when they spotted him, adding that he began to run away. Details about what happened next were vague, with police saying only that the suspect refused to drop his weapon, which “resulted in the subject being injured.”
Per departmental policy, the officers involved have been placed on routine administrative leave, police said. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to gather more information. The officers were equipped with body-worn cameras, police said.
