A 17-year-old male has been charged as an adult for attempted first-degree murder after the shooting of another 17-year-old in east Baltimore, city police said.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Luzerne Avenue at about 5:46 p.m. on Oct. 5, and the victim was found in pain with gunshot wounds on the leg, police said.

Police said that the victim was rushed to the hospital closest to the sighting and was listed in stable condition.

Southeast District Shooting detectives later found a suspect and arrested him on last Saturday, police said. The suspect was taken to the Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting is still under investigation, police said. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the District Shooting detectives at 410-396-2422 immediately, or to send an anonymous tip through Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or via the organization’s website.
