A pedestrian was killed Wednesday when he was hit by a vehicle while riding a skateboard on Merritt Boulevard in Dundalk, county police said.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Merritt and Westfield Road at about 5:45 a.m., police said.
Police said the pedestrian was identified as Jose Romero-Alvarez. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said that Alvarez was on his skateboard when the 2001 Toyota Tacoma struck him. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
There is an ongoing investigation into the crash.
