Baltimore City police have begun an investigation into an apparent shooting after finding a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in his home.

Western District officers were conducting a home visit in response to a “check-the-well-being” report in the 2200 block of West North Avenue, city police said.

Upon arriving at the scene, police said, the officers found a 32-year-old man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Police said the officers had the individual transported to a nearby hospital.

Investigation into the incident remains open at this time, and detectives have requested that anyone with information that might aid in this case contact them directly via phone at (410)-396-2477 or Metro Crime Stoppers at (866) -756-8521.
