Residents in Prince George’s County have been shocked by the recent closing of all the Bojangles in the area. There have been five locations that closed down in later months in 2023. However, some residents didn’t know about the closure until this year.

“The Bojangles location in Largo would be open some and then closed for the next week or so”, said Camile Thomas, current resident in Largo. Another current resident, Makyla Clay, mentions how Bojangles would usually have bad service and even sometimes would have McDonald’s napkins for some reason. It got to the point where people over social media were asking if the Bojangles were still open; look at a discussion between two people on Reddit, and they were having a full discourse about it.

If this confused residents, it was worse for Bojangles’ employees. According to thebaynet, a worker from one of the Bojangles locations mentioned how they haven’t received their last full paycheck.

“What stood out was there was no pay stub attached, no documentation of my hours, how much I worked, and how much they would be pulling out of our check”. Not only did the manager have problems so did the workers. While interviewing Isaiah Perkins, a former employee of Bojangles, he mentioned all the trouble he went through to get his check.

“It was really hard to get my check. I called the higher-ups to get my final paycheck before we closed down, but I didn’t hear anything until two weeks later”. When asked if he ever saw foul play while working, he laughed and said, “No, the only thing I saw was bad management and dirty work stations; I don’t know if you will call that foul play or not”. When Perkins admitted to a lack of management at the Bojangles he worked at, it may have been one of the reasons why Bojangles started to decline. It was also mentioned that the Bojangles franchise would reopen a new restaurant in the Baltimore area because they have closed down as well.

The Bojangles run has finally come to an end, but not without creating a chaos.
