Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced the formation of an independent commission to evaluate the Office of the Inspector General, review the county’s current laws and policies, and provide recommendations, the county announced on Tuesday.
The Baltimore County Commission on Ethics and Accountability, chaired by retired Maryland Court of Appeals Judge Joseph Murphy, will hold public meetings studying Baltimore County’s existing ethics laws and laws concerning the Office of Inspector General. The commission will develop an interim report for the county executive and the County Council by July 1, 2022, with a final report issued by Nov. 1, 2022, the county said.
