Baltimore County detectives detained a suspect this week who they say is connected with a homicide at a Pikesville hotel in November, police said.

Police said detectives traveled to North Carolina to extradite  Ayanna Michelle Allen, 29, who had lived on Penrose Avenue in Baltimore.

Police said Allen was wanted in connection to the November homicide of 43-year-old Lashawnda Sanders.

According to police, Sander’s body was found with trauma to the upper body in the hallway of a Howard Johnson Hotel in Pikesville on Nov. 29, 2020.. Police had responded to the call of an injured subject but medics had pronounced her dead at the scene.

This marks the sixth case from 2020 that county detectives have closed so far this year, police said.
