Nonprofit organizations in the city will be able to start apply for funding through the American Rescue Plan Act on Oct. 1, the mayor’s office announced this week.

Baltimore received $641 million from the federal program and will be allocating it to qualified nonprofits that will use the money to help those in need because of economic hardships caused by COVID-19.

Mayor Brandon M. Scott created the Mayor’s Office of Recovery Programs, led by Shamiah Kerney, to administer the federal funds.

To learn more about the application process and how the funds will be used, potential applicants can join a virtual webinar on Sept.  28 at 6:30 pm. Other questions or concerns can be sent to arp@baltimorecity.gov.
