A suspect connected to a carjacking incident was arrested on multiple charges in Lutherville-Timonium on Monday, county police said.
Erick Anderson, 55, approached an 86-year-old who was attempting to get into her car on Aylesbury Road, police said.
As the woman struggled with the suspect, a bystander tried to intervene, police said. They said Anderson fled the scene and struck the pair with the vehicle. Neither suffered major injuries.
Anderson was taken into custody by the Regional Auto Theft Taskforce two hours later, just past 6 p.m., police said. Anderson was then charged with first-degree assault and carjacking and is currently being held without bail, police said.
