A man and woman were charged with murder and manslaughter Friday for allegedly killing their nephew last January, city police said.
Stefanie Colon, 32, and Dion Ball Sr., 44, were transferred to the Central Booking Intake Facility, police said. They were charged in connection with the death of 15-year-old Hezekiah Pettiford, who died from blunt force trauma, police said.
Police said Pettiford was admitted to an area hospital last January and was unresponsive. He died Jan. 28. His death was ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s office on March 17, and police said they were issued a warrant on Aug. 30 for Colon and Ball.
