Baltimore County police are looking for a suspect who allegedly fired several rounds from a gun at New Town High School in Owings Mills earlier this week.

According to police, 34-year-old Akeem Peterson discharged several rounds during a fight that occurred on the school campus on New Town Boulevard at about 3 p.m. Monday before fleeing the scene. Nobody was struck by the gunfire, police said.

Peterson has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of disturbance to school operation, and firearm use in a deadly crime, police said.

County police said they need help finding the suspect. Police say Peterson is around 5-foot, 7-inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He lives in the 200 block of Hammershire Road in Reisterstown, police said.
