Four people, including the suspect, were killed in an active shooter scene at a Woodlawn townhome Saturday at 6:40 a.m., county police said.

Baltimore County police officers responded to a report of an active shooter and two fire alarms at a residence in the 7500 block of Murray Road, police said. They said that when officers arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.

Police said officers saw an adult man armed with a handgun outside of the home. Four officers fired rounds that killed the suspect, 56-year-old Everton Brown, police said. No officers involved were harmed.

Brown, a resident of the neighborhood, shot three adult men, killing two and injuring one, and one adult female, who was also killed. The injured male victim is currently in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire that ended up spreading to other townhomes after police swept the area and deemed it safe.

All officers who fired rounds are on administrative leave per departmental policy, police said. Police said they are continuing their investigation and search for motives.
