One person was severely injured and three others sustained minor injuries in a two-car collision Saturday on Owings Mills Boulevard and Interstate 795, Baltimore County police said.

The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when a vehicle heading southbound collided with the median and traveled into northbound traffic striking a second vehicle, police said. It was not clear from the police report whether the drivers were on the interstate or Owings Mills Boulevard.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle that was hit was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland with life-threatening injuries. The driver remains in serious, yet stable condition, police said.

The southbound driver and the two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, police said.
