An Owing Mills man is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center today on assault and gun charges, county police said.

Police said 56-year-old Andrew Gardner of the 12000 block of Park Heights Avenue had a tow truck called to remove his daughter’s car from the snow in the family’s driveway on Saturday. The tow truck then also got stuck, according to police.

A dispute broke out between Gardner and the tow truck driver, police said.

During the dispute, Gardner assaulted his 34-year-old daughter and threatened the tow truck driver at gunpoint, police said.

Gardner barricaded himself in his home for several hours where he and Baltimore County Police Department negotiators discussed a peaceful solution.

Gardner is now being held with a no-bail status pending a hearing.
