Man dies after suffering gunshot wounds

An unidentified 29-year-old man was pronounced dead by Johns Hopkins Hospital medical personnel early Sunday morning from gunshot wounds, Baltimore City police said.

Northeast District Officers were on routine patrol when they heard gunfire coming from the 4900 block of Herring Run Drive, police said.

The officers responded to the location at approximately 1:46 a.m. Sunday and observed the man in a vehicle suffering gunshot wounds, police said.

Homicide detectives have assumed control over the investigation, police said.
