A 54-year-old man involved in a car accident earlier this month died from his injuries at a local hospital on Monday, county police said.

Eddie Louis Bibbs of the 7500 block of Marks Avenue in Nottingham was being treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for life-threatening injuries after the 2019 Volkswagen he was driving was struck by a 2017 Hyundai at the corner of Belair Road and Virginia Avenue in Overlea on Dec. 1, police said.

Police said the Hyundai was heading southbound on Belair Road when the driver of the Volkswagen attempted to make a left turn onto north Belair Road from Virginia Avenue. The Hyundai struck the Volkswagen on the driver’s side, police said.

The three passengers in the Hyundai were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver did not report any injuries.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the factors of the fatal crash.
