Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski unveiled the Open Checkbook Platform today. This new tool will allow users to view county expenditures down to the individual check level.
The Open Budget tool, which was released in June 2019, has been updated to include the most recent expenditures from Fiscal Year 2020 and will allow users to compare against adopted budget, the county executive’s office announced in a press release. It also provides transparency to how the county spends taxpayer dollars, Olszewski said.
Open Checkbook is an interactive tool that will help users identify which vendors the county pays and how much it pays. It expands the Open Budget tool by providing detailed information about payments to those vendors for Fiscal Year 2020.
The Open Checkbook tool is available at: http://checkbook.baltimorecountymd.gov.
