The Howard County Department of Public Works will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 to discuss plans for a stream restoration project. The meeting will include an overview of the design followed by an open discussion.

Those who wish to attend via Webex should use the number 126 719 7053 and the password “Stormwater.” To participate via phone, citizens can call 1-650-479-3207, and use the access code 126 719 7053. Fees may apply.

The department’s Bureau of Environmental Services wants to re-establish a more natural stream, reduce instream erosion and improve water quality at a site behind 3951-3959 Ducks Foot Lane in Ellicott City.

Additionally, any area disturbed by the construction will be replanted after the completion of the project. The project is expected to begin in summer 2021, and it will be funded through the Howard County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
