Baltimore City police on Saturday arrested two suspects for handgun and narcotic violations in two separate incidents that officers speculated may connect to other incidents of firearm seizures.

At 3:15 p.m. Saturday, the Southern District Action Team investigated Carroll Street and Parkin and located a person who had an open arrest warrant. Officers said the suspect ran but eventually was arrested and charged with handgun and narcotics violations.

Within 24 hours, Baltimore Police seized six firearms and narcotics from several people. The suspects were arrested in connection with the firearm and drug seizures, said police who made most of the discoveries during traffic stops.

At 9 p.m., the Southern District Action Team made an arrest on the 2500 block of Washington Boulevard. Officers said they had observed the suspect because he displayed characteristics of an armed person. With further investigation, officers arrested the suspect for handgun violations.

Anyone with information about individuals carrying illegal weapons should call the Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587.
