Baltimore City police on Thursday were investigating a shooting on Monument Street at Lakewood Avenue that left a bystander with a gunshot wound in his left arm.

Eastern District patrol officers said they were dispatched to an area hospital around 5:08 p.m. Wednesday because a 29-year-old man had walked in for medical treatment. The shooting victim told police he was walking on Monument Street at Lakewood Avenue when he heard gunshots, then realized he’d been shot.

The victim was able to find a ride to the hospital, police said.

Eastern District shooting detectives were investigating and asked anyone with information to call  (410) 396-2433. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call the Metro Crime Stoppers’ hotline at 1-866-7lockup or visit the Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland website.

Anyone with information may be eligible for a reward, police said.
