A 71-year-old woman died yesterday after being struck by a car in Dundalk Friday evening, county police said.

The incident occurred at the corner of Merritt Boulevard and Ives Lane at about 7:30 p.m., police said.

Police said that a Chevrolet Caprice was traveling southbound on Merritt Boulevard when it struck Chom Woody of the 400 block of Westfield Road in Dundalk.

Woody was not in the crosswalk when she  attempted to cross the street, police said.  The driver remained at the scene.

County police said Woody was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Medical Center on Saturday.

The Baltimore County Crash Team is continuing their investigation.
