An adult male died Sunday after being shot in the 600 block of Cumberland Street, city police said.
Western District officers heard gunfire near Pennsylvania Avenue at approximately 11:58 a.m. Sunday and discovered an unresponsive adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel at a local hospital, police said.
Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control of the investigation, police said.
