The Maryland Park Service reported a substantial increase in park attendance from 14.9 million visitors in 2019 to 17.1 million visitors so far in 2020, Gov. Larry Hogan announced Monday.
So far this year, there have been 260 occasions where parks within the system were forced to close due to maximum capacity restrictions, Hogan said.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will update it’s COVID-19 response plans as health advisories arise and as the state continues to reopen, Hogan said.
