A 69-year-old city man was arrested at his home on West Conway Street Friday morning and charged with first-degree attempted murder, city police said.
According to police, detectives identified Kenneth Burke as the suspect in an assault that occurred Sept. 1 in which an adult man was struck in the back of the head with a brick in the 100 block of West Hamburg Street.
Burke was transported to the Southern District where he confessed to the assault, police said. He is at central booking waiting to see a court commissioner, police said.
The condition of the victim was not released.
