Baltimore County police are investigating a pair of incidents at grocery stores involving a man spraying women with an unknown substance.

The first incident occurred on Sept. 8 at a Giant grocery store located in the 10200 block of Mill Run Circle, authorities said. Police responded to a report that a woman had been approached by a man who sprayed her with a substance that made her feel dizzy. The man followed the woman out of the store, but fled when she began to make a scene, authorities said.

The second incident was almost identical to the first, with police being called to a Wegman’s store at 10100 Reistertown Road on Sept. 9. Again, a man approached and sprayed a woman with a substance that made her feel dizzy, authorities said.

Police speculated that the same man is responsible for both attacks, and that there may be other victims.
