Gov. Larry Hogan in an interview for the Texas Tribune Festival on Wednesday said it would be a mistake to push for a Supreme Court nominee before Election Day.
President Donald Trump said he plans to nominate a replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg this week.
Hogan’s statement comes five days after Ginsburg died.
“I think it would be a mistake for the Senate to ram through a nominee before the election on a partisan line vote,” Hogan said. “Just as I think it would be a mistake for the Democrats to question the integrity of the court or any nominees or try to pack the court.”
