Man arrested on rape charges in Towson

A 48-man-year old man was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense, and second-degree assault, county police said.

Medhi Eghbal of no fixed address is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail hearing review, police said.

The Baltimore County Police Special Victims Unit believes there is the “potential” that Eghbal assaulted other woman, police said.  Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 410-307-2020. Callers can remain anonymous, police said.

According to police, Eghbal invited the victim into the Z Burger restaurant in the unit block of Alleghany Avenue in Towson – where Eghbal works. The restaurant was closed at the time, police said, adding that Eghbal sexually assaulted the victim, an adult woman.

Police said they found Eghbal in the basement and arrested him. –Jordan Kendall
