Baltimore City Council President Brandon Scott said last week that he plans to continue his efforts to mobilize volunteers to support the Baltimore community with its trash and recycling pick up.

These efforts come in response to the Department of Public Works’ suspension of recycling pickup through Nov. 1.

Scott encouraged residents to contact the Council President’s Office either by phone at (410) 396-4804 or email at councilpresident@baltimorecity.gov if they need assistance on recycling or trash collection matters.

Scott, who is running for mayor in the November election, said his office will also volunteer its time and support to those affected by the suspension. Those interested in assisting the council in its efforts can sign up here.

In addition to volunteering, the council president requested there be a public hearing to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on public works’ services. The hearing will available for those to stream online at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday

The meeting information can be found here.
