A Glen Burnie man wanted in Florida was arrested in the parking lot of an Annapolis Red Roof Inn after hotel staff saw him trespassing, Anne Arundel County Police said Thursday.
Police were called to the hotel around 10 p.m. Wednesday and found Jerry Vincent Pippin, 29, in a vehicle outside the hotel. Pippin had an arrest warrant in Florida, officers said. When officers arrived on the scene, Pippin allegedly claimed to have COVID-19 and coughed in the officer’s face.
Pippin was booked for the Florida warrant and then charged for assault and failure to comply with the governor’s stay-at-home order in Maryland. Police said Pippin is a Glen Burnie resident and officers did not have details about the Florida warrant.
