Man arrested on weapons violations

Anne Arundel Police arrested an Odenton man for several weapons violations after he crashed his vehicle into a police car.

Brenton Bradley Josiah Fairnot, 21, face charges of having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, firearm possession with felony conviction, firearm illegal possession, and illegal possession of ammunition. He was taken to the Western District for processing, police said.

Officers said Fairnot was driving erratically in the areas of Jacobs Road and Stillmeadows Drive late Tuesday. When a patrolling officer tried to pull him over, Fairnot attempted to flee but lost control of the vehicle and struck the police car.

As police approached Fairnot’s vehicle, he began to reach under the driver’s seat. He was ordered to show his hands and complied. Under the seat, police found a  loaded Taurus PT140 Millennium Pro handgun.
