The Baltimore County Police were investigating a fight in Halethorpe on Sunday that resulted in the death of a 41-year-old man.

Police were called to a home in the 2000 block of Northeast Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and found an unresponsive man identified as 41-year-old Brian Michael Katuthat. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The investigation determined that Katuthat and another man in the home got into a physical altercation. When the fight ended, Katuthat fired a shotgun round through the man’s bedroom door. Katuthat then entered the bedroom and began assaulting the resident. Police said the fight ultimately led to Katuthat’s death.

Baltimore County Police Homicide Detectives were investigating the circumstances of the death.

The Baltimore County State Attorney’s Office also was reviewing the incident to determine if the resident will face any charges.
