Police investigate Northern District homicide

The Baltimore Police Department was investigating the death of a 72-year-old woman found in the 5500 block of The Alameda.

Officers arrived at a home in the 5500 block of the Alameda around 5:05 p.m. Tuesday to follow-up on a person who had been reported missing. Northern District officers located the body of 72-year-old Lillian Herndon. There were obvious signs of foul play and an officer pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

Homicide detectives were called to investigate, police said.

Police said anyone with information about the murder should contact detectives at 410-396-2100 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-8667lockup.
