City police investigate six shootings, one stabbing death in three days

Baltimore City Police were investigating six shootings and one stabbing death that occurred between Thursday and Saturday.

Police found a 21-year-old man with gunshot wounds in the stomach being treated at a local hospital around 12:20 a.m. Saturday after officers responded to a call. Investigators speculated the man was shot in the 2200 block of Atholgate Lane late Friday.

Also on Saturday, officers were called to the 2200 block of Highview Avenue where they found a man with at least one stab wound to his body. The victim was rushed to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

On Friday, Southern District police investigated a shooting at about 12:35 p.m. in the 3700 block of Ninth Street. When patrol officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

A few hours later, at 3:53 p.m.,  Southern District officers rushed to the 1400 block of W. Lombard Street for a shooting. Officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. The man was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, police said.

Eight minutes later, at 4:02 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of S. Hanover Street for a shooting. They found an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was rushed to the Shock Trauma Unit at a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said a second victim, a 20 year-old man, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. The man was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

A short time later, officers said a third victim was found in his car at a gas station several blocks away. The man told police he was driving through the 3600 block of S. Hanover Street at the time of the shooting. He was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of a shoulder wound, a non-life-threatening injury.

A 51-year-old man was fatally shot in the head around 8:03 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of Darley Avenue for a report of a shooting. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

All the shootings were being investigated. Police ask witnesses and others with information to contact the departments.
