A 59-year-old Baltimore man was in custody on attempted first-degree murder charges Tuesday after a domestic-related shooting.

Baltimore County police arrested James Thomas Blue of the 100 block of Walnut Avenue Sunday after an altercation around 3:47 p.m. with a woman at his home. Police said another man attempted to intervene and Blue allegedly shot the man in the lower body. Blue was subdued and disarmed by others, detectives said.

Blue was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in a felony. He was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, pending a bail review hearing.

Both the victim and the suspect were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Both were expected to survive, police said.
