Baltimore County Homicide Detectives charged a 27-year-old man Monday in connection with the January shooting death of an East Baltimore rapper known as “Dee Dave.”

Calvin Krasheen Fogg, 27, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of David King and first-degree attempted murder for allegedly injuring another man. Fogg was being held on “no bail” status at the Baltimore County Detention Center, following a bail review hearing.

Police said the shooting occurred in the 900 block of Holgate Drive in Essex during the early morning hours of Jan. 24. When officers arrived at the scene, they found King and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. King, 29, of the 2100 block of Westfield Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second man was rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

King or “Dee Dave” worked full time as a Baltimore Gas and Electric contractor.
