D.C. police make arrests in two homicide cases

The Metropolitan Police made two arrests Wednesday in connection with two separate murders in Southeast and Northeast sections of the District of Columbia.

Police charged 22-year-old Diquan Lucas, of Northeast DC with second-degree murder while armed in connection with a fatal shooting around 8:32 p.m. on Nov. 21. in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE. Police arrived at the scene and found 33-year-old Brian Tyrell Butler of SE suffering from gunshot wounds.

Butler was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital, officials said.

John Fenner, 49, of Northeast DC was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder while armed. Police said the shooting erupted on May 18, and police responded to a 911 call at  5:24 p.m. at the 100 block of T Street, NE.

Two males were found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds: 25-year-old Jonathan Hernandez of SE was pronounced dead after arriving at an area hospital, while a second unidentified man was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.  Police said the shooting was premeditated.
