Three arrests made in separate assault cases in DC

The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests of three men in connection with  separate assault cases around the District of Columbia.

Fifth District detectives arrested Tyrone Spencer, 38,  for pulling out a handgun and pointing it at a victim during an argument around 7:47 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Brentwood Road, NE. Spencer was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the victim was not injured. Spencer was arrested at the scene and the handgun was recovered, police said.

A second arrest was made in the Fifth District Friday when 25-year-old Brandon Cahill of Hanover, Pennsylvania also was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Cahall was arguing with a person around 11:34 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Bladensburg Road, NE, when he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim. Cahill also was arrested at the scene.

In the Third District, police detectives arrested 35-year-old Jasad Harris for pulling out a handgun during a verbal argument around 12:20 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 in the 700 block of Florida Avenue, NW. Harris shot the victim and left the scene.

Harris was charged Friday with assault with a dangerous weapon. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
