The Metropolitan Police Department arrested two Southeast DC men in separate assault cases, one involving a gun and the other a car.

Detectives announced the arrest of 45-year-old Michael Tito Jackson, who has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after an altercation in the 3400 block of 24th Street SE. Jackson allegedly argued with a man around 11:36 p.m. Monday and then pulled out a gun to threaten the victim.

Jackson was detained at the scene, officers said.

In a separate incident, 31-year-old Donte Colbert reportedly struck a man with his car  at around 4:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Good Hope Road, SE. The DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services rushed the victim to the nearest hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

After investigating, police officers said Colbert intentionally used his car to strike the victim.

Police later arrested Colbert and charged him with assault with intent to kill by vehicle.
