Nineteen men were arrested by Baltimore City Police for soliciting prostitutes during a two-week undercover sting operation.
The men, ranging in age from 26 to 78, were arrested between Nov. 4 – 15 and charged with solicitation of an undercover officer for the purpose of prostitution, police said.
The operation was conducted after the department received numerous complaints from residents about the impact of the illegal sex trade on the community. The main target areas were in the Southern District’s Brooklyn community.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison announced the successful undercover sting operation on Tuesday evening.
“We heard you loud and clear and now we’re delivering on a promise of doing something about it and taking action,” Harrison said.
